Another Week Down...

Hello friends! Another week has passed, and what a slow week it has been, whew! I am sooo excited for this Halloween weekend. Can't wait to dress up and celebrate Halloween the way grown-ups do...on the weekend because we have jobs. Can't wait to try this recipe for a yummy Fall adult beverage.

This week has been pretty good to D and I...I enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL sunset

Dillon got his new Firewire surfboard he has been oogling over for months

And I got crafty and made a fall wreath...you can see where I got the idea from here and also follow her instructions/items you need. In love with this thing! Now I just need to find a perfect place to hang/display it!

Hope you guys have a grrrrreat Friday...we're halfway there...and an even better Halloween weekend!

PS-A special shout out to my fab-o sister Kelsey for receiving the Game Day Award for last weekends VT game. She is the first freshman to receive this award. Continuing to be proud of you and all of your achievements thus far...keep working hard!

Enjoying My Sand-wich

Today I didn't feel like going home for lunch, and it was so nice out I decided to eat a quick lunch and go walk on the beach and soak in some sun. It is so crazy how quickly the seasons change...a month and half ago we were ending our summer season spending our days on the beach. Now, all you see are trucks on the beach, beachcombers, and zero umbrellas or vacationers. I love fall, but I hate to see summer go. The cool breeze, warm sun, and cold sand was a good escape for an hour to distract me from my work day. I also tried to get a little crazy and took some pictures.

I think some sand even sneaked into my pocket :)

Kick Back & Relax

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great wkend and made it through Monday! Like I said, this past wkend I was going to be doing a lot of nothing. It was pretty successful.

Friday, Dillon and I went out to eat with Steve & Renee at Awful Arthur's...yummy!
 Delish apps

Thanks Steve & Renee for treating us!!!

Saturday, we "slept in" until 8:30am and bid Renee farewell (she went to VA to go to Howl-O-Scream & to visit with family). After sunshine, coffee and Biscuits & Porn Dill and I got dressed and headed out to go Halloween costume shopping--SUCCESS! I won't show you this fab pic of us when we tried them on, but I will say...ROCK ON!

Z and Dez relaxin in the sun...what do you girls see?

Sunday was another relaxing day....and we kicked it off with some DD! I caught up on some TV while D fixed his Fantasy team, had a wiener photo shoot, went to Chris' to watch the Skins lose, and then to Longboard's to watch the 'Boys win.

I will have to say it was a great little weekend. Can't wait for Halloween weekend...one of my favorite "holidays"!!!

Gathering in Orlando

Happy College Game Day! What could be better than football on TV, sun shining, cool breeze, and sweats? LOVE FALL...now all I need to make me 100% happy is a week of warm weather to get my tan back....

This past week I was in Orlando for another Souvenir/Toy show, The Gathering. It was a smaller show than others, but is a good place to make appointments with your vendors to get some work done. A plus to this show...free food (delish), free brews (thanks to our vendors and Urban), and 2 bags full of awesome stuff (woven winter hats, scarves, totes, etc). From Saturday-Wednesday we spent our days buying stuff for the 2012 season...and our nights chatting with our great vendors and drinking brews by the pool. I won't complain about the accommodations, but it certainly wasn't anything compared to my room/The Cosmopolitan in Vegas. My only complaint is that I actually had to work instead of taking advantage of the warm FL sun. It was a good week, and I am glad to finally be home. I have been waiting for a free weekend to just relax-I am taking full advantage of this and I am not going to do ANYTHING...except maybe go for a run so I don't feel so guilty :)
 The Gathering 2011

So good I had to take a picture...tiramisu & Italian rum cake
Before our flight Wed. we traveled down to Cocoa Beach to see the infamous
Ron Jon Surf Shop, open 24 hours to try and get some good ideas
on how to improve KHK merchandising & more product ideas.

Wanted to give a shout out to the VT Hokies & hope you guys have a great Homecoming! Good Luck Kels & have fun!

Hope everyone has a comfy and relaxing Saturday...I know I will!!!

I love you, Friday

FRIDAY, I am so glad you are here! It has been 10 straight days since I have had a day off from work....the downside to business trips. So, this Friday is especially welcome! Pics and details about my latest trip to come later.

Like last Friday I will close the week with Three Things:

 1. It's cool again, so having the windows open all night/day with a cool breeze blowing in is the best!

2. Having this view of the sound from my balcony

3. Seeing Dezzie has bounced back after her surgery Monday. Here she is "chasing" the reflection on the wall from the metal oscillating fan. She's a loon.

Happy Friday everyone! We're not free yet, but I know we can make it! Looking forward to a relaxing weekend of friends, fam, beach, pumpkin spice coffee, cool air, puppies, sunshine, and halloween costume hunting. What are YOU doing this weekend? Anything fun/exciting?

TGIF

Happy Friday everyone!

Three things:
1. Even though I don't offically get the wkend off work I am going to Orlando for work till Wed. That should make the weekend/half of the work week go by fast.
2. Headed back to VA tonight in prep for my flight tomorrow AM...while I am in civilzation I will be visiting the mall and Target...neither are within 60+ miles from the OBX
3. Thanks to my Dad and Mom when I get back in town Dezzie will be "fixed," and they are the ones to offered to help see her through the recovery process. Thankful for that.

I wish you all a great weekend and first part of next week...can you believe it's the middle of October?!

Smile! It's Friday!

Pumpkin Cheesecake!!!

OK...so today I was going through recipes, and I found this one that looked delish from Coffee Mate's website. Pumpkin Cheesecake! What could be better than combining two of your favorite things into one recipe...so excited!

At lunch I decided I wanted to try the recipe so I went to the store to pick up a few things I needed (see web link at bottom of page for ingredients and recipe).
When I got home I went straight to work. I laid out everything I needed! It didn't take long at all to mix everything up and put it in the oven safe dish. It only took about 20 minutes in the oven to set...you then need to put it in the fridge once it cools for a few hours before you can properly enjoy your fall inspired cheesecake!

I couldn't take a picture fast enough before a small corner was enjoyed...by me and Dez!

Who says all the yummy things have to be just for humans...
pumpkin cheesecake please!

If you love pumpkin and cheesecake as much as I do and want to try this great fall treat CLICK HERE for the recipe! ENJOY

See Ya Later Alligator

Sunday after driving home from VT, D and I had to head to our place in VB to pack up the rest of the odds and ends. Wrapping dishes, taking down artwork, and filling boxes made me a little sad to leave our first little beach bungalow. We both loved that place, it's location, backyard, and all of the memories made.
 Dez's (and our) first snow
Kelsey celebrated her 18th birthday there
Lazy afternoons spent enjoying the sunshine

Gonna miss the flowers and our deck...so rare @ VB Oceanfront!

We shall see what the next year has in store for us here in the OBX...so far no year has been the same, and has made for an interesting ride!

Let's Go-Hokies!

Hello all! Okay, I know it's been a while since the last post, but we have been super busy and haven't been home in I don't know how many weekends. For the past two weekends we have traveled to Blacksburg to watch VT play Clemson (terrible game), and Miami (you couldn't ask for a better game to be in Lane Stadium)

Oct 1st was the game against Clemson, and my oh my was it cold and rainy. I mean COLD!!! I clearly forgot with 50 and below felt like in the mountains with rain mixed it. Thank goodness Kelsey had a long sleeve T and hoodie for me to wear. Four layers later, tall socks, jeans and ONE glove mom and I were sharing I still was only semi warm. Oh well...all in the name of football fun.

The crew reunited for some Hokie football fun. Even with the weather, and the Hokie's loss it was still a great time to catch up with friends, family, and watch Kelsey cheer!

This past weekend we went up to the Miami game and boy what a 180 this weekend was from last. It was 75+, and we were actually seeking shade and wiping sweat from our foreheads! This weekend was especially special because of Dillon's 24th birthday (Oct 7), and my Dad's birthday (Oct 9). Mom, Dad, Dillon and I enjoyed nice weather, cold brews, and BBQ before the game. We also went to see the parade/Kelsey again...she's cute as a button!

After the parade we got ready for the game...and what a game it was! Just as we thought we had the game in the bag one play put Miami ahead with minutes left on the clock. Everyone was biting their nails at this point. The Hokies needed a touch down to win and it came down to 4th and 1 when the QB ran in a TD...the whole stadium went wild. With a minute and change left on the clock and Miami with the ball the stadium crowd yelled and screamed the Hokies to victory. What a crazy game!
Final Score: VT 38-Miami 35
