My Busy Life...Let's Play Catch-Up!

Hiya Gang! So for the past 3 weeks I have been in and out of the office working in the stores to help prep them for Easter/the Summer season. Working late and working Saturday's have taken a toll of my personal life/time! Needless to say the first and last thing I do when I get home is eat then sleep, then start it all over again.

So here's a re-cap of where Dez, D and I have been for the last three weeks!

Workin in stores setting up merchandise & making it prettty!

Slat wall isn't my favorite, but with so many signs--what else can ya do? Make it look as good as possible!
We took time out to visit the beach, and hunt for shells and sea glass in Rodanthe
 Dezzie says "Hey!"
Why don't you pull up a chair & have a seat on the beach...chair that was washed up!
 Our lil water dog
The Freakers came to visit Kitty Hawk for Easter...along with Mr. Giggles and the Easter bunny. Haven't been freaked yet? Go to www.freakerusa.com to get in on the action!
Easter Sunday brunch beverages
Dezzie joining me on the balcony for some sun and fun crafting on Easter Sunday
"Thanks for the bone Easter Bunny!"
Finally finished my bottle cap fish...added his side fin so he doesn't just swim in circles!
Made a little spring centerpiece to brighten our days
Started and finished another coastal wine cork wreath...busy craft Sunday!
D's been hard at work getting the Beach Book together...he has been at the office-some nights until 2:30am!
Needless to say..he's one tired boy

It's been a busy couple of weeks, and it's probably going to stay that way for a while...but busy is better than boring and it has been anything but! We had a great Easter with Dillon's family and our friends....I missed my family and sad I couldn't see my sister who came home from VT...but I'm sure I'll get my fill of her this summer when she's living with us :)

Hope everyone had a great Easter too...and hope your week is going swimmingly!!

Water Dog

Whew! It has been a lil bit since I last posted....have been super busy these past couple of weeks!

Yesterday Dez, D and I went to the beach to enjoy the wonderful 70 degree weather. Barefoot, sun, and sand in March...we'll take it!

Before we started taking Dez on the beach for walks these past two months you couldn't get her 20 yards from the water. Now she has warmed up quite a bit. Yesterday she was running up to the wave just before it would break, let it break on top of her lil weenie body, and then run with it up the beach...she was soaked! She had a blast though. Here are a few pics....

Enjoying a bowl of froyo after a fun beach evening and yummy dinner!

Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!!!

What could be better than having high 60 degree weather and sun in February??? Having the day off for starters would put the cherry on top...but who's complaining? I'll just have to settle for a after work run outside to soak in what's left of the warm "spring" air!

For Lent I decided that what I gave up last year worked so well that I am gonna give it a whirl this year. I give up laziness...yep...that means working out a minimum of three times a week. I also am not officially giving up sodas, tea, etc but I am going to continue to only drink water/coffee on a regular basis. This combo should help my slim down.

Enjoy the weather :)

I LOVE SQUASH AND ZUCCHINI!

Hello on this spring-like hump day! Recently D and I decided we needed to start eating smarter and he agreed to choke down and try veggies for my wait line's sake. So out with the pastas and cheeses and in with the veggies and lean meats! Last night we had a veryy tasty meal. Honey Orange chicken with sweet potatoes and zucchini and squash. Now that I've found out these are two veggies D can tolerate I am obsessed. Add a little salt, pepper, garlic and soy sauce in the oven for 20 minutes and they are delicious, nutritious, and melt in your mouth. LOVE!

Another thing I'm excited about are cable reels! There's a place by my work with bookoos of them, and best part...they're FREE! Can't wait to pick them up and turn them into something cottage/rustic chic...see pics below

Last night I completed my oh-so-cute wreath...you can buy it here. It is the perfect wreath to hang now and transition it into spring and summer. I LOVE it!

Lastly, I am obsessed with Dachshunds...and even more obsessed with funny weiners in costumes or doing funny things. D found this one and fwd it to me...just makes me laugh!

NYC TOY FAIR 2012

Hello all.....Happy Friday!!! It's finally here...and for me I am extra excited because today concludes my 11 day work streak. WHEW!

Wednesday at 12am we arrived home from NYC where we were buying our toys for 2012 season. Such a fun show..just think...all the new toys out there on the market...most toys the public has never seen before...that's where I was. Jealous? If you're not I'm sure your kids, siblings, and cousins are! Here are a few pics from the trip!

This is a pic from Wednesday...it doesn't look as colorful because everyone is breaking down their booths and packing up...but you can see how many vendors are there...and this is only like 1/100th of them. I probably walked 5 miles a day just going up and down the aisles and to and from appointments!
Characters were constantly walking around....including a team of bagpipers and marching band
This guy is made out of LEGOs........wonder how many hrs, people, and LEGOs that took.
Of course I had to take/share my pics of Times Square!

Our Valentine's dinner was at John's Pizzeria near Times Sq. John's is located in an old NYC Church building...it has the 2 levels inside and an awesome ceiling...can't beat it...oh and the pizza too-stone oven of course!
